Distant View pg6
O.M.G.  This page was like 4 months in the works O_O.  I've been working 60+ hours a week at my two jobs, so I haven't been able to work on stuff.  I took some time off the comic because I wanted to spend some time practicing drawing Elsa and Johan and then I got 80% through this page and decided I hated how it looked so I redrew it.  Then I redrew it again.  Then I discovered Lazy Nezumi which makes your lines smoother in photoshop, so then I redrew it again with beautiful lines.  Then I got my paycheck for working those 60+ hours a week...and I bought an intuos pro.  During all this I also discovered the wonderful tutorial videos of Sycra who was able to explain color theory better than 5 college professors were able to in 5 years.  Needless to say, I learned a shit ton during the time I was working on this page.  I tried to incorporate a lot of it in the image, but I'm starting to just want to be done on this image so I can move onto something else. I'm still working on this comic and I've got another 10 pages scripted.  Now that I've got a kick ass tablet, and a better understanding of color I really think I'm going to start jumping along.  Life is lookin' good

So I've been around for...10 years O_O OMG I'm so old!  I started on Dev Art right around my senior year of high school.  I'd just started getting into various fandoms and talking to other fans in forums.  I stumbled upon a "post your fan art" thread on Animation Insider and after looking at some of the doodles there, I decided to try my hand.  I always liked drawing, and when I was a kid I was really good.  But around the time I was 12, someone told me that art wasn't a "viable career option" (I was also told that voice acting wasn't a viable career option either  Eye Roll ), so I stopped drawing.  When I saw the other people drawing the characters I thought "I could probably do that"  After I posted some pics and the people there were so SWEET (omg I can't believe what a confidence boost they gave me when honestly the art was awful) someone suggested Deviant Art to me.  The rest is history...and for the person that told me that art wasn't "a viable career": I currently illustrate T-shirts and I do graphic design for a corrugated display company, so take that ;P  I might not be making millions, and it was a long road getting here (and I've still got a lot of learning to do), but I'm pretty damn happy.

I'm honestly really grateful to the people that saw my art in the early days and praised me instead of cutting me down, it changed the course of my life.  I know when people are on the internet it can be easy to insult the person on the other side of the screen, but it's important to remember that the person on the other side is another human being with thoughts and dreams.  If you've ever looked at my signature, it says "Even the smallest of words can be the ones that hurt you or save you" and it's true, sometimes the smallest compliment or nice gesture can change everything.

No problem, hardly anyone takes pics of ratties ^_^ They're such awesome pets. I wish more people would realize how great they are, but you know they hear the word "rat" and they immediately thing "dirty" I wish we could rename them something that would suit their species better...like I dunno "snuggle lumps" lol

I really love my rats, but sadly I'm going to stop keeping rats as soon as my last few passes away :(

Any particular reason why you won't continue to keep rats? I had to stop keeping them because I was getting rashes and break outs when I held them.

Thanks so much for the fave on my belts and straps tutorial! I hope it's useful, and if you use either of them, I'd love to see what you make. ^_^
