So through out 2013 I've had a project going on where every week I practice a Disney character and post a sketch/picture at the end of every week. While I don't think that the project has been quite what I set out to do...which was get closer to a Disney style, I did still really enjoy having the project to work on. I have a habit of being like "OMG I want to draw!" only to realize I can't think of anything. So having this project has kept it so I always had something to work on at any given time, which was great. For 2014, I've decided to work on perspective. It's really my biggest failing as an artist (though color theory is a close second) so what I really want to do is focus on getting perspective down pat...or at the very least not be so afraid of even trying it. That being said, I'm coming up with environment/place prompts for myself. Doing one a week I think is a little too much pressure on myself since my boyfriend actually likes to spend time with me and I work two jobs. I'm probably going to aim for a final nice finished picture every month, and if I have extra time in the month and I want to work on another one, I've got some extra "back up" backgrounds I can work on. I've also decided that I'm going to really try and focus on getting comfortable drawing hands, to do that I'm going to either get index cards or I know I've got some small sketchbooks around, and I'm going to spend at least 5 minutes a day just sketching hands. That way I can't say "Well I don't have time to sketch" cause everyone has 5 minutes.
Anyone want to suggest backgrounds or environments? I'm open to suggestions. Also if anyone would like to join my project, I'd love the company
